App Store screenshot sizes and rules

To submit an iPhone app, you need at least one screenshot at 1206 × 2622 or 1179 × 2556 pixels, the size for iPhones like the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro. If your app runs on iPad, you also need one at 2064 × 2752 or 2048 × 2732 pixels.

The sizes Apple requires

• iPhone: at least one screenshot for “iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display)”. 1206 × 2622 or 1179 × 2556 pixels in portrait, or the same turned sideways for landscape.
• iPad: at least one screenshot for the 13-inch iPad, if your app runs on iPad. 2064 × 2752 or 2048 × 2732 pixels in portrait, or turned sideways for landscape.
• Mac, Apple TV, Apple Vision Pro and Apple Watch apps each have their own required size.

How many, and in which format

• At least 1 and up to 10 screenshots per device size.
• JPEG or PNG files (.jpeg, .jpg or .png).
• No transparency: images can't have an alpha channel.
• Up to three app preview videos per language and device size, if you want them.
• Every screenshot must follow the App Store Review Guidelines.

All the other sizes

If your app looks the same on every device, you only upload the largest required size. App Store Connect scales your screenshots down for the other iPhones and iPads. Upload a size yourself only when you want screenshots made for that screen.

• Biggest iPhones, like the iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air: 1320 × 2868, 1290 × 2796 or 1260 × 2736 pixels.
• 11-inch iPad: 1668 × 2420, 1668 × 2388, 1640 × 2360 or 1488 × 2266 pixels.
• Older iPhones with Face ID or a Home button have their own sizes too. Without your own, they get scaled ones.

New: iPhone Duo

Apple has added sizes for iPhone Duo: 1398 × 2034 pixels for the outer display and 2007 × 2853 for the inner display. From April 2027, apps built with the iOS 27.1 SDK or later need them. Apps that have them get a badge on their product page saying they're optimized for iPhone Duo.

Your first three count the most

In search results, Apple shows up to three of your screenshots or app previews, depending on their orientation. Put your main benefit in the first ones. They are your ad in search.
